General Manager Kip Rowe and F&I Manager Edgar Rogers of Spitzer Chrysler Dodge were honored at the Homestead City Council Special Presentation Ceremony in late November by Councilman Jimmie L. Williams, III for their dedication to the Homestead community and long history in the city.
“This is in recognition of your commitment to making a difference in our community. You believed in Homestead and your business continues to make a difference in our city” said Councilman Williams about Spitzer Chrysler Dodge, the main sponsor for this year’s Homestead Rodeo. “Thank you for your continued support, care and commitment to impact positively the lives of our residents.”
During the financial meltdown of 2008, when the future of the country’s automobile industry was in crisis, the Homestead dealership suffered the blow of having its doors closed. Mr. Rowe petitioned the Homestead City Council at the time to draft a resolution to persuade Chrysler to save the dealership. The resolution passed and Spitzer Chrysler Dodge was back in business. In recounting the story, Councilman Williams proclaimed, “All of you have done a Herculean job over the years to turn that dealership around. The City of Homestead salutes you!”
