Homestead Police Department Administrative Assistant for the General Investigative Division Dania Garcia was recognized by Vice-Mayor Jon Burgess and ICE, the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for her excellent investigative work in intelligence and gathering and organizing information for ICE during operation Safe Neighborhood.
“We are here because she did excellent work with operation Safe Neighborhood and want to recognize Dania Garcia and Homestead PD on behalf of our director and all US citizens in making this operation a success,” said ICE Assistant Field Director Ray Bado, who presented the award along Supervisory Officer Peter Machine.
Homestead PD Captain Kevin Kent said at the presentation that Ms. Garcia, who has worked for the Homestead Police Department for nine years, “is a true public servant. I have never seen anyone being able to gain so much information from just sitting at a computer. We are grateful for the lives she has saved and the contributions she makes every day to the safety of our residents.”
