Meet local authors, attend a writer’s workshop, enjoy the food trucks and live music in the first Homestead Book Fair that celebrates our history!
The Homestead Centennial Committee is pleased to announce the recent publication of the history of Homestead book, entitled, Homestead, Florida. . . . From Railroad Boom to Sonic Boom, co-authored by Seth H. Bramson and Bob Jensen. To celebrate this fascinating tour through 100 years of local history, the Homestead Centennial Book Fair has been planned for October 5, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the downtown Historic District of Homestead, Losner Park at Krome Avenue.
In addition to meeting the authors of the Homestead story, the event will feature many other local authors who will be offering their books for sale. Slated authors who will speak at the Meet the Authors Forum include: Seth Bramson, Bob Jensen, Laura Ogden, Charlie Hudson, Larry Perez, Angela M. Thomas and Roger Hammer. Kiwanis will be conducting their successful Children's Book Give-Away, Food Trucks will be on Krome Avenue, Mojo Scoundrels will be playing on Losner Park stage, and the local Lamplighter's Writing Group will be conducting a Writer's Workshop in the upstairs meeting room at the Museum. Come early and enjoy an afternoon dedicated to the art of the written word!
