[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick Encourages students to apply for Young Entrepreneur Academy

Councilwoman Patricia Fairclough-McCormick, who is partnering with the Homestead and Florida City Chamber of Commerce, is encouraging students in grades 6-12 to apply for the Greater Homestead / Florida City Chamber of Commerce South Dade Young Entrepreneur Academy also known as (YEA).

Middle and high school students who have always dreamed of starting and owning their own business can make it a reality by applying for YEA: an intensive nine-month program created to teach students how to take an idea and make it into a business while working alongside local business leaders. At the end of the program, students will be able to present their business plan to a panel of investors and obtain the funding needed to start their own business. To apply for YEA please pick up an application at The Greater Homestead & Florida City Chamber of Commerce located at 455 North Flagler Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030, or download the application at http://www.chamberinaction.com/files/716.pdf An informational session on the Young Entrepreneur Academy will take place Thursday, August 8th 6pm at the Homestead/ Florida City Chamber of Commerce.

Scholarships will also be available depending on the financial needs of each student applying for YEA.
