Councilwoman Patricia Fairclough-McCormick, assistant principal at Pine Lake Elementary School, was awarded a high performance bonus by the Miami-Dade County Public School Board based upon her role in raising student performance levels at her school.
“I am honored to be recognized by our School Board,” said Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick. “My first priority is always ensuring that students are moving in a positive direction and continuing to improve their academic growth and education.”
Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick was one of the various Dade-County school administrators who received the financial recognition funded by the U.S. Department of Education Race to the Top (RTTT) grant, which evaluates teachers and administrators based on their school’s student performance. Miami Dade County is the only county in the state so far to use the Race to the Top grant to award top performing teachers and administrators.
