The City of Homestead would like to alert its residents about a new scam that has been taking place in South Florida. Homestead residents have reported receiving in the mail a postcard that requests them to call a number for a “Water Update.” When residents call, they are asked to leave a message with their information.
The City of Homestead Water Utility does not solicit “Water Updates.” If you are contacted in any manner by anyone soliciting a “Water Update” or requesting any of your personal information, do not respond to it. We urge all customers to never provide their personal information to strangers and to never use banking information that is not their own.
