Homestead, FL (July 15,2022) – The City of Homestead has completed the development of a natural park within the City’s densely populated downtown area. The natural park development was completed with assistance from the Urban and Community Forestry through a $20,000 grant.
The project’s main objective was to contract with specialists to install local landscaping in the City’s Losner Park. The inclusion of native plantings not only has enhanced the City’s urban landscape but also serves as natural treatment for stormwater runoff.
The City is extremely grateful for the technical and financial assistance provided by the U.S. Forest Service, Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, and Florida Forest Service.
