This past Career Day, Councilman Elvis R. Maldonado visited Keys Gate Charter School where he spoke to various classes about his job as a Councilmember in the City of Homestead. During his visit, Councilman Maldonado was surprised by one of the kindergarten classes with a birthday cake celebrating his 40th birthday.
“I was thrilled to be a part of career day, this is one of the most important and informative events teachers can provide for students,” said Councilman Maldonado, Liaison to the Homestead Education Committee. “I am always happy to tell students about my job as a Councilman, and business owner. They need to know that they have many different careers to choose from, and it all starts with the education they receive at school”
