NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS COVID-RELATED AMENDMENTS TO THE 2019-2020 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM—CARES ACT AND THE CDBG CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN (CPP)
The City of Homestead intends to amend its 2019-2020 CDBG ACTION PLAN and Citizen Participation Plan (CPP):
CARES Act Amendment to the 2019-2020 CDBG Action Plan
HUD has allocated CARES Act funding to the City of Homestead, which has identified the following projects for CARES Act funding based on the most urgent COVID-19-related needs:

Amendment to the Citizen Participation Plan (CPP)
Amendment 1 to the CPP is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and CARES Act funding as authorized by Public Law 116-136 (March 27, 2020). Public Notice and Comment is hereby reduced from thirty (30) days to five (5) days under expedited procedures. Additional changes due to COVID-19 are included in the full text of the amendment located on the City’s website.
Public Meeting
The City will conduct a public meeting during the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting at 3:00 PM, May 27, 2020, City Hall Council Chambers, 100 Civic Court, Homestead, Florida. However, due to COVID-19, this hearing will be held virtually at 3:00pm (EST). Public comments can be submitted to publiccomments@cityofhomestead.com until 12 noon on May 27, 2020. The purpose of the public meeting is to receive public comments on the proposed CDBG CARES Act Amendment, the Citizen Participation Plan, Fair Housing and Community Development needs of the City.
