For her years of service and dedication to Homestead Main Street, Councilwoman Judy Waldman was honored at a reception in Homestead Main Street, located on the second floor of the Homestead old Town Hall Museum.
“Judy has always been a tremendous help and inspiration for us,” said Main Street Executive Director Yvonne Knowles. “She believed in us since the beginning and we wanted to recognize her for that.”
Councilwoman Waldman served as the Council Liaison of Main Street for ___ years and was instrumental in the growth of Main Street as an institution as well as acquiring the funding that prompted that growth. She helped increase awareness in the community about Main Street’s mission to revitalize Downtown Homestead and improve the quality of life of our citizens. Among the various events which she helped organized through Main Street are Wings over Homestead and the Biscayne/Everglades Greenway Bike Festival, which attracts hundreds of cyclists every year to ride through the greenway that connects the Everglades and Biscayne Bay National Park.

Homestead Main Street is a non-for-profit organization that works closely with the City of Homestead, the Community Redevelopment Agency and other organizations to initiate downtown economic revitalization and to bring an expanded cultural element to the downtown area.
