The Police Explorer program is run in a paramilitary structure which promotes self-discipline in new recruits. We are open for teenagers between 14-18 years of age, GPA of 2.0 and above (willing to work with lower GPAs). No Arrest record, No Gang activity, No facial/tongue piercings, No exotic color hair and no visible tattoos are accepted.

The New Cadet Academy Orientation will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, @18:30hrs at the Homestead PAL Gym (FLYERS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE ROLL CALL ROOM). There will be sign-up sheets present at the orientation for the applicants in regards to setting his/her interview date/time.

NOTE: The completed/notarized application will be collected the day of his/her interview (NO EXCEPTIONS).

The First Day of the Explorer Academy will be on Saturday, February 29th  @08:30hrs. Academy meeting days will be Saturdays (9 AM to 5 PM), eventually it will change to 9 AM to 1 PM and Mondays (5 PM to 8 PM), but the days may vary depending on our details.

***Interested teenagers have until March 14th to join***

Over the course of the Academy, cadets will be challenged physically and intellectually in the field of Law Enforcement. Special emphasis will be placed in team building, leadership, and responsibility. The Academy's Basic Training Program is an intensive and demanding experience; however, we request maximum effort. Participating cadets will experience the feeling of camaraderie, pride and self-confidence upon completion. Cadets will feel an overall sense of self-accomplishment and pride upon graduation.
