The City of Homestead is continuing to monitor Hurricane Dorian and encourages all Homestead residents to check their hurricane plans. The current forecast shows impacts to Homestead coming as early as Sunday morning. There is currently a 70-90% chance this will include tropical storm force winds.
As a reminder, HPS Sanitation is currently following the normal solid waste pickup schedule. There are no planned additional bulky waste pickups outside of the normal solid waste schedule. Residents are reminded not to place items out for pickup if they do not have a regularly scheduled bulky waste pickup. As soon as tropical force winds are in effect all waste pickups will stop to ensure the safety of employees. Therefore, regular scheduled pickups may be interrupted due to the hurricane, so please plan accordingly. If there is an interruption, services will be provided on the next scheduled pickup.
Trolley service will also stop as soon as tropical force winds are in effect.
