NOTICE OF REVISED PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE FY 2019-2020 CDBG ALLOCATION AND ACTION PLAN, FAIR HOUSING, AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF THE CITY
2019 CDBG ALLOCATION
The City of Homestead has been awarded approximately $807,257 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for FY 2019-2020. The annual Action Plan has been developed in accordance with the Consolidated Plan and includes funding for the Cybrary, Public Services for STEM, Administration, Section 108 repayment, and other activities. The Action Plan may be viewed on the City’s website, or by contacting the individual listed below at the City’s Finance Department, beginning on June 28, 2019. The Action Plan will be submitted to HUD on or about August 1, 2019. The previous Action Plan was developed and made available for public comment, and as a result of an initial review, funding for elderly public services has been replaced with funding for STEM public services for low income youth. Therefore, the public comment period has been extended.
FAIR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS
During the July 24, 2019, Public Meeting, the City will also receive comments related to Fair Housing and Community Development needs.
The City will conduct a public meeting during the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting at 6 PM, July 24, 2019, City Hall Council Chambers, 100 Civic Court, Homestead, Florida. The purpose of the public meeting is to receive public comments on the proposed 2019 CDBG Action Plan, Fair Housing and Community Development needs of the City.
