[ARCHIVED] Build Your Future at the Homestead Cybrary Construction Job Fair

Cybrary Construction Job Fair 2019

Build your future at the Homestead Cybrary Construction Job Fair Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 11am to 2pm at the Phichol Williams Community Center (951 SW 4th Street, Homestead, FL 33030).  Attendees will have the chance to meet with multiple companies representing various trades that will help build the Homestead Cybrary, located in Downtown Homestead.

Attendees are invited to stay for a bonus session from 2pm to 3pm that will discuss the City of Homestead’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program (DBE) and how to register as a DBE.  Put simply, the primary goal and objective of the DBE program is to level the playing field by providing small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals a fair opportunity to compete for federally funded transportation contracts.  As a recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) fund, the City of Homestead is committed to fulfilling this goal.

About Homestead Cybrary

The Homestead Cybrary will redefine the library experience by merging cutting-edge technology with traditional principles of the library to create the world’s first Cyber-Library, or “Cybrary.” The concept of a high-tech library began as part of the city’s downtown revitalization plan and is the result of a partnership with Landmark Entertainment Group, best known for creating attractions like the Spider-Man and Jurassic Park rides at Universal Orlando.  The Cybrary will be operated as a free public library by Library Systems & Services and will be built by Axiom DR Construction.

The City is currently in the midst of an aggressive Downtown Revitalization effort.  Another project currently underway is Homestead Station, which includes a transit center, movies, bowling, dining, and retail.  Projects already completed include the Seminole Theatre, City Hall, and Police Headquarters.  For more information on the Homestead Cybrary visit www.homesteadcybrary.com
