As mosquito season arrives, be sure to protect yourself and property from the potentially serious diseases that mosquitoes carry. The easiest way to help stop mosquitoes is to Drain & Cover: drain standing water from common areas around your house like pool covers, gutters, and flower pots, and cover your skin with protective clothing and repellent when you go outside.
The City's Parks & Recreation Department regularly sprays for mosquitoes at City Parks & Facilities. All other spraying is conducted by Miami-Dade County. You can report a mosquito nuisance and request spraying by calling 311 or visiting www.cityofhomestead.com/mosquito. The more calls received about a nuisance increases the priority of the area and increases the frequency and immediacy of spraying.
