[ARCHIVED] Children Receive Books and Bicycles this Christmas from Councilwoman Patricia Fairclough-McCormick

On Saturday December 22nd Councilwoman Patricia Fairclough-McCormick gave away books and bicycles to needy children and their families at the William B. Dickinson Homestead Community Center.

“I am proud to be a part of this event and see the joy on children’s faces as they receive books and bicycles,” said Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick. “Thanks to the generosity of others I am able to give, and that is the greatest gift of all.”

Books and Bicycles is an initiative started by Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick last year after a highly successful Thanksgiving food drive. During the drive she realized many families would not be able to provide their child with a gift, and decided to take action. This year Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick reached out to various local businesses. Through these donations she was able to provide a book and a bicycle for each and every child, making this a Christmas they will never forget!
