During a special presentation at the December City Council meeting, Lt. Colonel Frank Malgoreho Commanding Officer of the United States Army Recruiting Command recognized Homestead Police officers for their support to the Miami Recruiting Battalion.
“I am here today to publicly thank each and every officer for their effort and support on the evening of October 20, 2012,” said Lt. Colonel Malgoreho. “The officers here today went beyond the call of duty during a potentially volatile situation and took care of one of our own, and for that we recognize them as one of our own.”
Homestead Police officers were awarded a certificate for their professionalism and support to the Miami Recruiting Battalion and given a traditional US Army coin, part of an Army tradition that dates back to WWII.
