The Fraternal Order of Police, William F. Brantley Lodge # 13 presented a $2,000 donation check and a plaque to the Homestead Police Explorers in recognition of their committed work and excellent professional character.
“I would like to thank the Fraternal Order of Police for recognizing the explorers for the hard work they do,” said Homestead Explorer Chief Advisor Officer Robbie Tate during the special presentation of the city council meeting held on December 12th. “The explorers often dedicate their entire weekend to servicing their community, instead of playing and going to the mall.”
The Homestead Police Explorers is a law-enforcement-based community service program that falls under the City of Homestead Police Department. These young, productive citizens, ages 14 to 21, volunteer their services to several events throughout the City of Homestead alongside Homestead police officers.
“The Homestead Police Explorers has come a long way from 25 years ago, and become a great success and benefit to the community,” said Homestead Police Chief Alexander E. Rolle. “I would like to say thank you to everyone that took part in making this recognition possible.”
