Residents of Homestead’s Oasis Community celebrated Thanksgiving together at a potcluck dinner while they watched a play by their children and participated in a turkey giveaway sponsored by Councilwoman Patricia Faiclough-Mccormick and KW Property Management.
“I was honored to sit down and break bread with the residents of the Oasis Community,” said Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick, who organized and co-sponsored the event along with KW Property Management. “It was standing room only and I am so thankful that we could all share this moment together and help so many families enjoy their own Thanksgiving.”
Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormocik along with KW Property Management distributed 100 turkeys to families at the Oasis Clubhouse November 18 event. Lennar corporation also collaborated by donating Publix gift certificates to the residents. In addition, residents enjoyed a Thanksgiving play performed by children from the Oasis community, who created their own props and costumes for the piece.
“The conversations with constituents, camaraderie, and community bonding that took at the event were priceless,” said Councilwoman Fairclough-McCormick. “The event was a success and we will definitely coordinate others in subsequent years to come.”
