The Homestead Public Information Office (PIO) came home with some serious hardware from the nationally renowned 3CMA (City-County Communications & Marketing Association) Savvy Awards Competition—winning top honors in the Communication or Marketing Programs category as well as three Silver Circle Awards in others.
The entry achieving the highest recognition was Referendum Information Outreach. In it, the PIO was recognized for their work in informing the public about the May 2014 Bond Referendums for a revitalized Seminole Theatre and new Police Station. Both measures passed with an overwhelming majority.
“This entry was well-rounded: on-point message, nice clean graphics, a cohesive design overall, and the goals were clearly achieved,” wrote one 3CMA judge. “The information seemed to be well-received by the target audience.”
The Public Information Office received two Silver Circle Awards for Building Homestead, the 2015 State of the City—an innovative and modern video featuring the Homestead community. One award recognized the production itself, while the other recognized the premiere event where Losner Park was transformed into a state-of-the-art outdoor theatre.
A direct-mail piece produced by the PIO also received Silver Circle recognition. The Downtown Homestead New Developments mailer provided residents with an update on the progress of Downtown revitalization during the last year. The piece received high praise for its easy to read format and appealing visuals.
