Councilman Elvis Maldonado helped the residents of Cherry Village Apartments, a senior living community, celebrate the season with a festive holiday luncheon. The event, which took place December 16, 2014, offered a bountiful spread along with plenty of giveaways.
Thanks to the Councilman, 20 lucky seniors received turkeys and all residents got to enjoy the beautiful Christmas tree purchased from Life Pointe Church’s “Buy a Tree. Save a Life” program.
“Our elders are such a valuable resource,” said Councilman Maldonado. “Without them we literally wouldn’t be here and in this time of celebration it is important to remember how much they have to offer us in the way of wisdom, experience, and perspective.” Attendees at the luncheon laughed, ate, and swapped stories while enjoying the company of new and old friends.
